Music club to hand out garage sale goodies to flood victims

The Redcliffe Country Music Club will be opening its doors on Thursday, March 3 to help those who have lost everything in the floods.

Member Trudi Brewer said they will be giving away a wide range of items free of charge to those who need a helping hand.

“We will have clothes, kitchenware, linen, books, DVDs, toys, stuffed animals and a few other things,” she said.

“Our club has been hosting garage sales to help raise some money, so we do have items in stock.

"We unfortunately do not have furniture in stock."

The items have been donated by group members, as well as others from around the community.

“At first it was just us donating a few items, but then other country music groups heard what we were doing and we happy to also donate to the garage sales,” she said.

“There were also times when people who would come shopping at our garage sales and chat to us about donating some of the goods they were planning on giving away.

“We were actually supposed to have a garage sale on Sunday, but we weren’t able to because of the rain.”
