Plans for new hotel/club revealed
The first pictures have emerged of a huge new development proposed for land on a major arterial road in Strathpine.
Comiskey Group is planning a new hotel or club, indoor sport and recreation showrooms and restaurants/retail outlets at 90 Gympie Rd.
The site, on the corner of Kremzow Rd and Gympie Rd opposite the main entrance to Pine Rivers Park, is currently farm land.
The main buildings appear to be for indoor sport/recreation and showrooms, with the club/hotel, restaurants and outdoor dining and beer garden to the east.
A food and drink drive thru would be closest to the major intersection. Entrances to the site are shown off Gympie Rd and Kremzow Rd.
In the development application, with Moreton Bay Regional Council, details include parking for more than 500 cars to the front of the block.
Car parking would also be above ground level, raised concrete columns, to avoid possible flooding in times of very heavy rain.
Construction is proposed in five stages starting with the main indoor sport and recreation/showroom.
Then the food and drink drive through, restaurants and retail, hotel/club and finally second indoor sport recreation/showroom.
The Comiskey Group also built and operates Eatons Hill Hotel, Sandstone Point Hotel, Samford Hotel and Beachmere Hotel.
