Plans for new Caboolture fast-food outlet

A long-standing Caboolture fuel station would make way for a fast-food outlet, if plans submitted to Moreton Bay Regional Council are approved.

Guzman y Gomez (GyG), specialising in Mexican food, is proposing a new drive-thru restaurant at 2 Bertha St and 22 Beerburrum Rd, Caboolture.

It would be the third fast-food restaurant in that area, with the planned GyG beside McDonald's (corner East St and Beerburrum Rd) and opposite KFC (Beerburrum Rd).

The outlet would be on the existing Matilda Blue service station and the block beside it, which currently has a warehouse/shop building.

Both would be demolished to make way for the new GyG.

The combined blocks would form a 2000sqm site, with the restaurant building on 243sqm.

The development application, available on MBRC’s website, says the GyG would have 17 car parking spaces, two waiting bays and 15 queue spaces in the dual drive-thru.

Plans include a pole sign and the proposed restaurant would be open 8am-10pm Monday to Sunday.
