Popular soprano to hit Redcliffe stage
Published 6:00am 19 March 2024
One of the world’s most sought-after Classical Crossover sopranos is returning to the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre for a Mother’s Day Spectacular.
Mirusia Louwerse is performing at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre on Mother's Day with a breathtaking performance to celebrate all mums.
“I'll be performing a selection of songs from my latest albums, including the enchanting melodies from Classique,” Mirusia says.
“Joining me on stage will be the incredibly talented Shane Calderbank, serving as our Musical Director, along with a group of talented string players and graceful ballerinas from Redland Dance.
“Adding to the opulence of the event, we'll be incorporating lavish golden stage décor provided by Palatial Props, and I will of course be wearing some beautiful ball gowns and costumes ensuring a truly glamorous atmosphere.
“However, amidst all the grandeur, the heart of the event remains focused on celebrating Mum and the mother figures in our lives.”
Mirusia’s new album Classique is currently number one in the ARIA Classical and Classical Crossover Charts, making the singer the only Australian woman on the charts.
“Being the only Australian woman in the ARIA Classical and Classical Crossover Charts is an incredible honour and a testament to the dedication and passion I've poured into my music,” Mirusia says.
“Having Classique reach number one in both charts is truly humbling and overwhelming.
“…I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share my love for classical music with audiences, both in Australia and beyond.
“This achievement fills me with immense pride and serves as motivation to continue pushing boundaries and striving for excellence in my musical journey.”
When asked how much support she receives from the Redcliffe community, Mirusia says: “The support I receive from the Redcliffe community is truly heartwarming. It's like having a big, extended family cheering me on from the sidelines.
“Whether it's the warm applause, the encouraging words after the show or the genuine enthusiasm that fills the venue, I always feel incredibly grateful for the wonderful support of the Redcliffe community."
Mirusia has always had a tie to Redcliffe, and she often goes to Dolphins games and has even announced a game there.
“I always look forward to my concerts in Redcliffe and the audience are always really welcoming. So too are the staff at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre," Mirusia says.
