Caboolture Sports Club’s Group’s 19th Annual Charity Golf Day has raised almost $40,000 for a key charity group.
More than 140 players, sponsors and volunteers raised a record $39,368.96 at Caboolture Golf Club late last month, for the Rotary Club of Caboolture
The loud shirts-themed day will enable Caboolture Rotary to expand and support youth, homelessness and domestic and family violence initiatives.
“These funds will help us continue providing hands-on assistance where it is needed most - from young people and families to those experiencing homelessness or domestic and family violence,” Caboolture Rotary Representative Terry Lucas said.
“It was wonderful to see so many people come together in such a positive way. The impact of their generosity will be felt throughout our community long after the day itself.”
Initiatives include relationships programs in schools, including Top Blokes, for boys and young men to strengthen mental health, understand emotions and build healthy relationships.
Funding will help students train for science and STEM via the National Youth Science Forum and Science Experience and outdoor education camps for primary and secondary students.
Shelter bags and blankets will be provided for the homeless, with food and fuel vouchers and emergency supplies for women, children and families affected by domestic and family violence, including support delivered through CADA.
“Raising $39,368.96, the highest total in the Golf Day’s 19-year history and one our entire community should be proud of,” CSC Group CEO Craig Thomas said.
“The golf day is always a fantastic event, but the true measure of its success is the difference these funds will make long after the final ball has been played.”
Sports & Leisure Manager Kelvin Patch, from the golf day’s major sponsor Paynters, praised the event which combines “genuine community spirit with meaningful local impact”.
“The work Caboolture Rotary delivers across youth wellbeing, homelessness, and domestic and family violence support is incredibly important,” Mr Patch said.
CSC Group also thanked Gold Sponsors Max and PrintEzy, hole sponsors, prize donors, volunteers and players whose support helped make the day such an outstanding success.
CSC Group - Caboolture Sports Club, North Lakes Sports Club, Sports Central Caboolture, Glass House Local, Club Donnybrook - gives more than $1.9 million to the community each year.
