Redcliffe Little Athletics paid tribute to a remarkable number of record breakers at its annual Presentation Day earlier this month.
To be valid, records had to be set at one of the club’s competition nights on Langdon Park Oval, in Margate.
A number of the records had stood for more than 20 years - and two for more than 30 years.
Record breakers
Daniel Harlow broke a 38-year record in the U13B 400m. Previously held by M O’Hello in 1983. Was 57:60 seconds, now 57.00.
Skye Presland broke a 37-year U13G 1500m Walks record. Previously held by T Foels (1984). Was 8:29.00, now 8:26.30 minutes.
Daniel Harlow broke a 31-year record in the U13B 800m. Previously held by Graham Joy (1990) was 2:21:23 minutes, now 2.17.90.
Daniel Harlow broke a 25-year record in the U13B 80m Hurdles. Previously held by Mark Axford in 1996. Was 13:19 seconds now 12:40 seconds.
Leap into history
Daniel Harlow broke a 23-year record in the U13B Long Jump. Previously held by V Fa-Amoe (1998) 5.22m, now 5.30m.
Taisha Eketone broke an 18-year record in the U13G Shot Put record. Previously held by Cherie Bushnell (2003) was 10.28m, now 11.49m.
Angus Dine broke a 12-year record in the U13B 70m. Previously held by Alex Mould (2009) of 8.81 seconds, now 8.70.
Angus Dine and Daniel Harlow broke a 12-year record in the U13B 100m. Previously held by Alex Mould (2009) of 12.40 seconds, now 12.30.
Medals records
Daniel Harlow broke the U13B High Jump. Now 1.65m. Previously held by D Hebbard from 2010 was 1.58m, now 1.65m.
Travis Cauchi broke our U10B Javelin record. Previously held by Tyler Eketone (2014) 16.26m, now 17.20m
Zyon Iakopo broke last season’s (new event in 2019/20) U11 80m Hurdle record previously held by Samuel Perez. Was 17.00 seconds, now 15.10.
Daniel Harlow broke the U13B Medals Night record 4944. Previously held by Alex Mould 2008 of 4666
Taisha Eketone broke the U13G Medals Night record 4794. Previously held by Fletcher Day 2014 of 4088
Congratulations to U12s Amber Baker 15.73m and Matthys Visser 25.67m who hold the club records for the new U12 750gram discus event.
