New scents arrive for Christmas

From the fresh citrus scent of Moreton Bay to the nostalgic fragrance of Australian Christmas bush, a North Lakes business has unveiled two new collections just in time for festive gifting.

Scented by Harry Chief Vision Officer Jenny Marree said the new Sense of Home collection, unveiled alongside four Christmas fragrances at a VIP evening on Saturday night, was a celebration of the places locals know and love.

“Our new Sense of Home collection pays tribute to South East Queensland and the amazing places we have right here on our doorstep,” Jenny said.

The collection features three fragrances: The Range, inspired by Toowoomba, The Gardens, paying tribute to Mount Coot-tha and Brisbane's botanic gardens, and The Bay, a fresh citrus fragrance inspired by Moreton Bay.

What makes the collection particularly special is that customers helped choose the final scents.

Six fragrances were shortlisted, with customers invited to visit the North Lakes store, experience each one and vote for their favourites.

“Our customers voted for their favourites from six fragrances, helping us narrow the collection down to the final three, which is just great,” Jenny said.

Christmas is also in full swing at Scented by Harry, with four festive fragrances now available: Merry and Bright, Naughty and Nice, Native Noel and Ginger Bells.

For Jenny, Native Noel holds a particularly personal connection, inspired by childhood Christmas memories in Sydney.

“Growing up in Sydney, we always had a massive Christmas bush at Mum’s and Grandma’s places. I absolutely loved it and it’s something I’ve really missed since moving to Queensland,” Jenny said.

Native Noel captures that familiar Australian Christmas bush fragrance, bringing a little of Jenny's childhood Christmas memories into the new collection.

The Sense of Home collection also introduces larger formats to the Scented by Harry range, with each fragrance available as a 1200g candle or 500ml reed diffuser.

“They really make a statement in the home and are a beautiful gift for someone special,” Jenny said.

Christmas gifting and beyond

Beyond the new collections, Scented by Harry offers a wide range of handmade candles, reed diffusers and home sprays, all produced at its Endeavour Boulevard studio in North Lakes.

The studio is also home to The Candle Lab, where visitors can create their own scented products, making it an option for Christmas gifts, celebrations, hens parties and team-building experiences throughout the year.

Jenny said fragrance was personal, and the store was designed to help customers explore different scents and find something that suited them or the person they were buying for.

“Everyone has their own fragrance preferences, and we want to make sure there’s something for everyone,” Jenny said.

Scented by Harry also offers a candle refill service, allowing customers to bring their empty jars back to the studio to be refilled rather than replaced.

A new candle refill pouch means customers further afield can also refill their favourite jars at home, with reed diffuser refill pouches planned.

Whether it's a locally inspired statement candle, a festive fragrance, a refill of an old favourite or a hands-on Candle Lab experience, Scented by Harry has options for Christmas gifting and occasions throughout the year.
