Six grant opportunities you can apply for now

A number of funding opportunities are currently available for community groups, businesses and individuals to apply for.

Grants are available to help organisations plan community events for the region to enjoy, or to provide vital services, and to help those who are succeeding in their chosen sport or activity.

Here is a list of grants you can apply for today:

Queensland Child Protection Week – Activity Grants

Funding of $1000 is available to support events held during Child Protection Week, which will be held between September 4-10.

Funding is available for non-government organisations, community organisations and networks for events that have been designed to positively support the theme and aims of Child Protection Week.

Eligible applicants include non-government organisations, neighbourhood centres, childcare centres, women's centres, Parents and friends'/citizen's associations, Police Citizens Youth Clubs, community playgroups and youth centres.

Applications are open now and close on May 13.

NAIDOC Week

Community groups across Moreton Bay can apply for up to $1000 to support NAIDOC Week activities and projects happening across the region.

NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Celebrations will be held from July 3-10 with this year’s theme being ‘Get up! Stand up! Show up!’.

Applications are now open and close on May 23.

Community Benefit Fund

Up to $35,000 is available for not-for-profit community groups to provide services and leisure activities for residents to enjoy.

The funding is part of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF), which is Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program.

Each year, approximately $60 million is distributed to not-for-profit community groups.

Applications are now open and close on May 31.

Youth Achievement Grant

Do you know a young person that has been selected to represent Queensland or Australia in their area of interest?

Support is available to help with the purchase of new equipment or travel costs through the Youth Achievement Grant.

Funding includes $200 for those who have been chosen to represent Queensland, and $350 for those who have been chosen to represent Australia.

Applications are open all year round, with applications accepted up to three months before or after the event.

The timeframe for awarding the grant is approximately 2-4 weeks.

Local Sporting Championships

The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.

If successful, applicants will receive between $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships.

Applications are open now, with round 1 set to close on June 30.

Social Enterprise Development and Investment Funds

This program aims to offer finance and support to eligible social enterprises to help them grow their business and increase the impact of their work in their communities.

This program is open on an ongoing basis.
