Sunshine and Tunes as Park Jam returns to Moreton Bay this spring
Published 5:00am 20 August 2022
Music lovers of all ages will be able to throw out the picnic rug and enjoy some great tunes with Council’s Park Jam events returning this spring.
The line up includes a number of artists from across South East Queensland, including some familiar Moreton Bay voices.
Park Jam will run from September 4 to October 9, with events to be held in Beachmere, Albany Creek, Bongaree, Burpengary, North Lakes and Caboolture.
One of the acts taking to the stage will be the Caboolture Community Choir, who will be performing on Sunday, October 9.
Treasurer June Willoughby says the choir is excited to share their voices and songs with the community.
“This is the first time we have performed at Park Jam,” June says.
“We have performed at various other events such as MBRIT events, Christmas Carols, other Council events, and performed at nursing homes and even weddings.
“We do a vast array of genres and at Park Jam we will be singing lots of feel-good music and songs from musical theatre shows.
“There is something in music that touches every soul, so we would love to see lots of people come down for the event.”
The Cabooolture Community Choir has been running since 1995 and is a SATB choir (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass).
June says they would like to see some new faces come and join them sing.
“We always welcome new faces and those who have a passion for singing,” she says.
The choir practices every Wednesday from 6.45-9pm at the Grant Road Sports and Community Centre.
