Sweet opportunity to experience farm life

Strawberry lovers will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty and find out what life is like on a real working farm as part of LuvaBerry’s upcoming Farmer for the Day event.

Held on April 1 and 2, Farmer for the Day is part of the annual Caboolture Festival – a month-long celebration jam-packed with live music, entertainment and family friendly events for the community to enjoy.

Mandy Schultz from LuvaBerry is encouraging families “to put away the technology and step into the fresh air to enjoy an authentic” farm experience.

“You’ll learn how to grow strawberries with your very own LuvaBerry strawberry patch, where the LuvaBerry team will guide you through planting your very own runners,” Mandy says.

“You will also learn where your food comes from and when the time is right, enjoy the delicious strawberries you’ve grown.”

Tickets for the Very Important Farmer package are $85 per strawberry patch, which includes 25 strawberry plants, a family photo, educational information on how to grow and plant your own strawberries at home and a family ticket to a LuvaBerry’s seasonal ‘Peckish Picking’ session.

LuvaBerry’s exclusive ‘Peckish Picking’ sessions offer a twist on the traditional pick-your-own, with the owners giving visitors the go-ahead to eat strawberries in the field as they pick their own punnets to enjoy at home later.

Families who prefer a one-day experience can head on down and plant as many strawberry plants as they like and take a tour of the farm for $25 per person.

Complimentary farm tours will be held at 9am and 3.30pm, and there will also be face painting from 9-11am.

Bookings are essential, with morning and afternoon sessions available.
