Thousands of visitors were given a rare chance to see the work of our region’s emergency services at the weekend.
There were live demonstrations and a chance to meet the personnel at the Bribie Island Emergency Services Expo.
Packing the Pumicestone Passage foreshore, visitors made the 2021 expo bigger than ever after last year’s event was cancelled due to COVID.
QPS Water Police and Dive Squad, Queensland Fire and Emergence Services (QFES), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), VMR, Surf Life Saving, Coast Guard, State Emergency Services (SES), Rural Fire Services and many more attended.
The All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) from Bribie was a huge hit with spectators who also had the chance to meet Crime Stoppers, Neighbourhood Watch and Community Supporting Police.
“It is a great day for the community to come together and be able to get up close and see what roles our emergency services personnel perform in a time of need,” Moreton District Police Superintendent John Hallam said.
“Moreton is proud to host the event every year and we hope to see you all again in 2022.”
The event was masterminded by Graham Gibb from Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) who is also a member of Volunteer in Policing.
