TROVE exhibition brings local stories and treasured objects to Redcliffe gallery

A new exhibition opening in Redcliffe next month invites locals to slow down, discover, and uncover memories that we hold onto.

TROVE, presented by the Three of Cups Club arts collective, brings together the work of twelve contemporary women artists from across the greater Moreton Bay region.

Presented across a range of mediums including painting, ceramics, weaving, assemblage, drawing, digital illustration and photography, TROVE explores what happens when personal and collective histories are revisited, preserved and reimagined through art.

Art as memory and preservation

The exhibition centres on the idea of the “trove”, a collection of objects, materials or memories that hold meaning beyond their surface. For the artists involved, these works function as both personal artefacts and intentional records, shaped by lived experience, cultural identity and a sense of belonging.

The works on display consider memory not as something fixed, but as something that can be reworked and shared. In an age where so much is disposable or digital, TROVE asks what is worth keeping, and why.

A collaborative local collective

The Three of Cups Club is an artist group of women based in and around Moreton Bay. Their collective is founded on values of collaboration, care and creative exchange.

TROVE features Chez Robinson, Jennis Ardern, Kim Loughland, Kim Wheeler, Kylie Harries, Marian Reginato, Mel Brady, Melinda Edwards, Rachel South, Samantha Gilkes, Shan Michaels and Tiff Howe. The lineup of creatives cover diverse mediums and practices, reflecting the collective’s collaborative ethos and the richness of local contemporary art.

Locals are invited to meet the artists and discover the work together on the official launch opening on February 14th at 1pm.

Supported by the local arts community

TROVE is supported by the Redcliffe Art Society and will be exhibited at one of Redcliffe’s best-known creative spaces, The Old Fire Station Gallery on Oxley Avenue from 11 February to 8 March.

The exhibition is open to the public and offers locals a chance to engage with contemporary art that is grounded in familiar themes - family, history, identity and the quiet significance of everyday objects.
