Vegas Larfield steps back in the ring tonight aiming to making it a ‘Night to remember' at the Nissan Arena in Nathan.
The 19-year-old bantamweight, from the All Star Boxing Academy at PCYC Pine Rivers, will face John Nim, of NSW, over four three-minute rounds.
Nim is a late replacement after Larfield’s first opponent pulled out. However, Nim is very experienced having had 39 professional fights.
“I can’t wait,” said Larfield on B4 The Fight. “I’ve been in the gym non-stop and am looking forward to putting on a good performance.
“I don’t know too much about him. I just hope he’s coming to fight because I’m coming to fight.
“I’m looking to put on a really good boxing performance.”
Larfield will be putting his unbeaten professional record on the line at tonight's A Night to Remember VI show by Boxing Shop.
He has had three wins from three fights including one before a global audience in Las Vegas last year.
Phil Murphy, from Oxmar Properties, who manages Larfield, described the rising star as a “very special fighter”.
Austin Aokuso, 22, who Murphy also manages, makes his professional debut tonight on the same card at cruiserweight.
He had four amateur fights, winning two and losing two, but said on BN4 The Fight, he was feeling “pumped up and ready to start my career. Professional will suit me more.”
Austin’s brother Paul is in the Australian Olympic boxing team which will be heading to the Tokyo Olympics next month.
Nissan Arena is on Mains Rd, Nathan. Doors open at 5pm tonight. First fight is 5.30pm.
