'What a Friday!' says Strathpine man after lottery win
Words by Nick Crockford

Despite having to work this weekend, a Strathpine man is beaming from ear to ear after winning $100,000 in the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The Moreton Bay resident won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10583, which was drawn on June 2.

Shortly after the draw, The Lott contacted the winning man, who said the unexpected win was a huge boost ahead of a weekend of hard work.

'Can't believe it'

“Oh my god! What a Friday!” he said.

“I wish I didn’t have to work this weekend now and could celebrate but maybe I’m entitled to a day off now.

“My wife won’t believe me. She’ll tell me I’m going mad if I say I’ve won $100,000. I can’t believe it. I don’t even know what I’ll do with it.

'Fantastic boost'

“It’s just a fantastic boost for us. It’s been a tough couple of years and this is going to make life a lot easier.

“Thank you so much for the call. You’ve made my day.”

His winning entry of 10 random numbers was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

Mega prize

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $10.61 million for draw 1575, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $14.7 million for draw 10584.

In 2021, 127 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $32.95 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
