Who’s Who in 2022, Business: Derelle Mitchell
Words by Moreton Daily

Having started her own cosmetics company more than a decade ago, Derelle Mitchell from Health Focus Manufacturers at Clontarf knows how hard you must work to succeed in the business world. She has continued to do just that in 2022.

Derelle grew her company from the ground up to become a leading manufacturer of some of the world’s most popular health and beauty products that can be found in supermarkets and pharmacies across the country.

In honour of her success, Moreton Daily featured Derelle’s story as part of a special feature in recognition of International Women’s Day, which was held on March 8.

In the article, Derelle spoke about how she grew her business from scratch and shared some of her best business tips and advice to inspire the next generation of women.

About Derelle Mitchell

Derelle Mitchell is the Managing Director at Health Focus Manufacturers at Clontarf.

The company delivers skin care and cosmetic products to Australian and global markets.

Products manufactured here in Moreton Bay include moisturisers, serums, anti-aging products, hand creams, skin toners, exfoliators, after sun gels and lotions, massage oils, baby care, face masks, lip balms, shampoos, conditioners, hair treatment products and men’s styling products.

Apart from developing and manufacturing personal care products, Health Focus Manufacturers also apply its product development and manufacturing skills to formulating other items including pet care, cleaning and sanitizing products.

Moreton Daily spoke to Derelle in early March to highlight her contributions in the business world as part of International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day is a global day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe.

In the lead-up to the day, Moreton Daily spoke to several inspirational women from different suburbs across Moreton Bay.

Derelle said when it came to finding a business that she could “really sink her teeth into”, manufacturing personal body products sounded like a good choice because “they are always in demand”.

Derelle established the business in 2011 and, since then, it has grown from humble beginnings to a leader in new product development and manufacturing in the personal care and hair care industries.

In March, Derelle said the company had more than 40 employees, with the majority being Moreton Bay Region locals.

In the article, Derelle shared the secrets to her success, and passed on some of her top advice to the next generation of women, in a bid to inspire them to follow their dreams.

Derelle said every young entrepreneur needed to be “prepared for the journey, and all the bumps and hurdles that will come your way”.

Derelle also spoke fondly of her mother, who she described as her role model.
