Who’s Who in 2022, Business: Super Butcher

Shoppers have been given more choice when it comes to buying their meat with a new butcher opening its doors at the Morayfield Super Centre this year.
The owners of Super Butcher announced the news in August they were opening the region’s second store.
Speaking to Moreton Daily, Super Butcher General Manager Joel Giacomantonio said opening a store in Morayfield was based on feedback from customers.
“We had a lot of customers shopping at our Eagle Farm store who told us they would love for us to open another store in Moreton Bay,” Joel said at the time.
“Following that feedback, we did a customer survey asking people where they thought that store should be, and a lot of people told us they wanted to see one in Morayfield.
“We drove around the area for a couple of weeks to see what was available and we kind of stumbled across the site at the Morayfield Super Centre.
“It wasn’t even for lease at that time, but it was a great size and we thought this would be the best place to open our new store.”
From then, it was only a few short weeks until the opened to the public for the first time on September 1.
A community fun day was held to coincide with the grand opening, which was attended by hundreds of people.
Joel said he was thrilled with how many people came on down on the day.
We had people coming into the store and stocking up on everything,” he said.
“At previous store openings, we have seen people go in for the specials or pick up little things, but in Morayfield, we just had a completely different reaction from the customers.
“The store got cleaned out, which is a massive result for us, especially since we didn’t have an existing customer base in this part of Moreton Bay.
“We received lots of positive feedback from customers saying they had been waiting weeks and months for our store to open, and that they were glad to have a good butcher in the area.”
Due to the store’s popularity, Joel also hired more staff to keep up with the ongoing influx of customers.
This was the company’s eighth store to open in Queensland.
