Words by Moreton Daily

Passionate muso and Redcliffe peninsula local Dan Nebe has had a big 2022. He opened up Team Musicare’s headquarters at Clontarf, rebooted Rockin’ 4 the Homeless, continued to play with his band Team Utopia and tour with some of the biggest names in Aussie music.

Dan is the founder and director of Team Musicare, a business which enables people of all ages and abilities to pursue their love of music.

The business, which started about 18 months ago in founder Dan’s home studio, now has four locations on the Redcliffe peninsula and one at Caboolture.

It’s headquarters at Clontarf opening in May and has three studios, a group music therapy/workshop space, and offices. It has been designed to bring creative and administration spaces together and create a hub for musicians of all abilities to call their own.

Dan says the opening and fast growth of the business proves the services are needed and valued.

The program is available to anyone, of any age, wishing to explore the magic of making music, including those on NDIS packages.

Dan is also director of Rockin 4 the Homeless and rallied his mates in the music industry to ensure there was an event this year to raise money for The Breakfast Club of Redcliffe. The charity, which provides, food, essentials and support to the homeless, was raising money for a sleep bus.

After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Rockin’ 4 the Homeless returned in November with an ‘entrée’ event at Thirsty Chiefs North Lakes.

“We have decided to host an entrée event with the main event planned for September 2023. This will mark 20 years of The Breakfast Club and 10 years of R4TH. It should be quite a celebration,” Dan said at the time.

About Dan Nebe

Dan Nebe started playing in bands from the age of 16 before getting into music production. Since then, he has worked as an event and production manager, sound and lighting engineer, record producer, tour and entertainment manager, creative and artistic director and music journalist.

After 30 years in the music industry with musical greats such as The Beach Boys, Hoodoo Gurus, Robert Cray and The Super Jesus, he decided to launch Rocking 4 the Homeless to give something back to the Northside community and raise money for The Breakfast Club of Redcliffe.

The event gets bigger each year and has raised more than $300,000 dollars to assist the homeless in the Moreton Bay Region.

Dan is the front man for the band Team Utopia, but continues to hit the road with some of the biggest names in Aussie music including Xavier Rudd this year.
