About Beachmere

A rural coastal suburb located within the Moreton Bay Region, Beachmere is positioned between Deception Bay and Sandstone Point. Well-known as a quiet hideaway perfect for families and those looking for beach and water fun or a bayside nature reprieve.

At Beachmere beach you’ll find a two-lane boat ramp and pontoon with plenty of parking, toilets and facilities. It’s not uncommon to see horse riders trotting along the Beachmere waterfront at low tide, as the beach is not far from the Queensland State Equestrian Centre.

Enjoy a Moreton Bay day trip to Beachmere beach with the family, where you can watch the kids play on the beach – making sandcastles, splashing in the shallow waters and watching mesmerised as tiny solider crabs scuttle along the mud flats at low tide.

Beachmere schooling facilities include two local primary schools, secondary schools are located in neighbouring suburbs.

History of Beachmere

The origin of the area's name, was given by a European settler, Thomas Edwin Bonney, Beachmere meaning; a strip of sandy beach set among marshy countryside.
