A Beachmere man says his $150,000 win in a Keno draw this week is a much-needed ray of sunshine after being in-and-out of hospital over the past year.
The Moreton Bay resident scored a Keno Ways jackpot in draw 658, on Wednesday and looks forward to a total prize of $151,221.40.
He told an official from Keno the windfall couldn’t have come at a ‘more perfect time’.
“I’m so happy!” he said. “I couldn’t believe how many numbers I’d got on the ticket.
"So great"
“It’s going to be so great once I receive the prize. I’ve had a few wins here and there, but mostly smaller ones.
“This has come at the most perfect time. I’ve spent half the year in hospital, and I’m really pleased that something nice has come my way.
“We’re about to do some lovely renovations around the house, so this win can go towards it.
“We’ll have to open a bottle of champagne and frame the confirmation letter on the wall to help remember the win! Thank you so much.”
His winning Keno entry was bought at the Beachmere Hotel. General manager Jacob Black was thrilled to hear his outlet had sold a major Keno winning entry.
“It’s always exciting to be part of someone’s lucky moment and to know our establishment played a role in creating such a memorable in creating such a memorable experience for one of our patrons,” he said.
“There was an undeniable sense of excitement and joy as the news spread among our staff and customers. It created a buzz of positivity and celebrations throughout the venue.
“We bet our patrons will react with a mix of disbelief and envy!
World of happiness
“We wish our winner a world of happiness with your newfound fortune. May this win be just the beginning of a string of lucky moments in your life. Enjoy every bit of it.”
