Elexon Electronics is growing so rapidly it is planning to build a new facility at The Mill at Moreton Bay site at Petrie.
The business won the RDA Moreton Bay Award for Innovation Excellence at the 2023 Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards on July 7.

Elexon Electronics, which is presently at Brendale, was launched in 2017 and specialises in the design, development and manufacture of a diverse range of electronic products for niche local and export markets.
It has undergone a major transformation with the aim of expanding into new markets and becoming a supplier to the defence industry.
The company has completely innovated its processes, products, and services, making significant changes and upgrades to better serve its customers and meet the standards required for defence and space projects.
A key achievement has been the implementation of a new growth roadmap/defence-readiness plan, which focused on cyber security uplift, quality and management systems, team development and upskilling, and manufacturing equipment upgrades.
CEO Frank Faller says winning the award means much to his team.
“As a business to win this award, it reflects on having chosen the right strategy for Elexon to be able to compete amongst all these amazing businesses here in the Moreton Bay Region.
“It means a lot to the team because it’s all about the team who made all this happen, who put in hard work and dedication to develop, manufacture and deliver product. It’s really well-deserved recognition of teamwork.”
As a result, there are also big plans for the future.
“We’ve grown rapidly, like the whole region of Moreton Bay. We’re literally bursting at the seams. We are expanding into new business areas like defence, expanding our mining business etc,” Frank says.
“So, we are looking to build a purpose-built facility in Moreton Bay. We want to be part of the new development in The Mill (at Petrie) to give us opportunity to further grow.
“Moreton Bay is our home. We love the support from the Council, the networking opportunities … to have these amazing businesses around us that give us the opportunities to grow. It’s an amazing area to live in, so we love it.”
