It’s time to relax with live music and fun in the sun at the annual free event - Australia Day on Bribie Island.
The calm waters and beautiful Pumicestone Passage views will provide the perfect backdrop to celebrate Australia Day in Brennan Park, Bongaree on Wednesday January 26.
Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) CEO, Shane Newcombe, says Australia Day on Bribie is the perfect way to kick off the 2022 events calendar.
“Australia Day is the perfect opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate our unique part of the world,” Shane said.
Live music
There will be an eclectic spread of live music to enjoy from 4-8pm.
“These events have become synonymous with showcasing some of our region’s best local musicians and I invite everyone to come and experience the talent we have in our own backyard,” he said.
From beach activities and food trucks to a free mechanical surfboard, there’s plenty of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy at one of the region’s favourite destinations, Bribie Island.
Event organisers encourage visitors to bring along a picnic blanket and chairs, pack some food supplies to use at the park’s barbecue facilities or drool over the variety of food trucks and local restaurants on site.
Local parking
From 2-9pm on Australia Day, Toorbul St will be closed from First Ave to South Esplanade, including a partial road closure of South Esplanade, diversions will be in place.
Parking will be available in surrounding streets.
