ANZAC Day in Caboolture will be back to normal on Monday.
After two years of COVID disruptions, Caboolture and Morayfield RSL Sub-branch’s three familiar ANZAC Day ceremonies will return on April 25.
It starts with the Dawn Service at 4.50am outside Bolton Clarke Fernhill Retirement Village, by the water tower, in King Street.
It is a familiar venue, but with a slightly different configuration – the memorial now faces the building following development of the site.
At 9.30am the traditional parade will work its way down king Street, turn left into Beerburrum Rd and stop at Sports Central, the former RSL.
Huge parade
Around 26 schools are expected to take part, with representatives of groups such as the SES, fire bridge etc. The procession could take 30 minutes to pass each point.
Then, at 10.15am, Caboolture Town Square will host the Main Service – the one element which was held last year.
“It has not been easy organising this,” Caboolture RSL Sub-branch President Bruce Miller said, “a number of new rules have come in.
“But we hope the number of people attending and the crowds will be back to where they were in previous years.”
Bribie Island RSL Sub-branch is also returning to it’s pre-COVID program of a dawn service, which was held last year, and then a morning march at 8.30am and main service at 9am.
