Christmas llamas coming to town

Llamas, yes llamas, will be making an appearance at all four Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region signature carols events this year.

The new addition to this year’s carols events will make their debut at Caboolture Christmas Carols on November 28 at Centenary Lakes.

They will be found at a designated ‘Llama Land’ area at each carols event from 4-7pm.

Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region is presented by Moreton Daily, with signature events at Caboolture (November 28), North Lakes (December 5, Kinsellas Sports Complex), Redcliffe (December 12, Moreton Daily Stadium) and Pine Rivers (December 19, Pine Rivers Park).

Each event is on from 4-8pm. Entry is free and tickets are not required.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) Chairman Shane Newcombe, publisher of Moreton Daily, says there will be two llamas at each event thanks to the team at Ottaba Llama Walks.

“The llamas will add some cheeky fun to the events this year, which we’re sure the whole family will enjoy,” Mr Newcombe says.

“These llamas are friendly, love people and are used to a bit of attention. A family photo with one of them would be a great keepsake or could even be a present for family and friends.”

Bookings are not required, but photos and meet-and-greet opportunities will be on a first-in, first-served queuing basis.

The llamas will be wearing comfortable Christmas accessories and taking 10-minute breaks on the hour to ensure the animals are comfortable, well rested and stress-free.
