Desperate plea for donations as shelves run bare
Published 3:00pm 31 July 2024
Two neighbourhood centres in Moreton Bay have issued a desperate plea on social media calling for donations to help restock their community pantries.
The team from Encircle Community Services put a post on Facebook earlier today saying they were “running very low” on pantry and other essential items.
The Encircle Kallangur Neighbourhood Centre is in need of food items like Weet Bix, canned vegetables, canned fruit, pasta sauce, dried pasta, rice, canned tuna, salmon, or chicken, as well as insect repellant.
At the Encircle Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre, donations of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash would be greatly appreciated.
“These are given to people doing it tough, especially homeless people and families in need,” the post said.
“If you are able to help by adding an extra item or two to your shopping trolley, that would be great.
"Pantry items can be dropped off during opening hours."
Where to find them
The Encircle Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre is located at 865 Gympie Road, Lawnton.
The Encircle Kallangur Neighbourhood Centre is located at 51 Marsden Rd, Kallangur.
