Prices Plus at Bribie Island has launched its Gift of Essentials Campaign, which is aimed at spreading joy to those in need.
For second year in a row, Prices Plus is partnering with local charities and collecting donations from customers.
The business will add an extra 30 cents for every dollar donated by customers, amplifying the impact of the community’s generosity.
Prices Plus head of merchandise and marketing Tamara Ridley says all donations are given to not-for-profit partners as gift cards to use in hampers or to be handed out to people in outreach centres.
The business will give local donations to the Bribie Island and District Neighbourhood Centre, which supports families in need at Christmas with food hampers.
Donations will help provide families in need with a Prices Plus gift card to use as they choose, either to purchase gifts and decorations or to buy everyday items.
Community generosity
“This unique program ensures that the collective generosity of the community will have an even greater effect on local charities and give people the opportunity to buy hygiene essentials, clothing, Christmas decorations and presents,” Tamara says.
"We are thrilled to run the Gift of Essentials Campaign again this year as part of our commitment to giving back to the communities that have supported us.
“The holiday season is a time for compassion and generosity, and we believe that by coming together with our customers, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.
“Last year we generated over $27,900 for local charities and we aim to exceed that this year.”
Tamara says customers are encouraged to share their participation in the Gift of Essentials Campaign on social media using the hashtag #GiftOfEssentials and tagging Prices Plus.
“This will create a sense of community and inspire others to join the cause,” she says.
