Vehicles from the golden era of racing took to the track at Lakeside Park on May 22 for a G.E.A.R – Golden Era Auto Racing – Club Drive Day.
The days are organised to provide members with the opportunity to drive their old racing and sports cars in a safe, affordable, regulated and social motor sport environment.
Members enjoyed a morning of racing on the ‘ultra-quick, undulating, 1.5mile (2.4km) circuit.
Lakeside Park, at Kurwongbah, is one of Australia’s most favorite and classic circuits.
Since its opening in 1961, the circuit, formerly known as Lakeside International Raceway, has hosted mainly Australian touring car rounds, GT races and the Australian Superbike Championship.
