Plans for a new 335-home over 50s resort have been approved for a bayside suburb in the Moreton Bay region.

GemLife has received the green light from Moreton Bay City Council for its $295 million resort with river and lake frontage in Beachmere. Residential construction is expected to get under way at GemLife Beachmere Waters in Gillian St towards the middle of this year.

The 62.6-hectare site will have $15.5 million of amenities, with 52.1ha of wetlands, adjoining the Caboolture River, to be revegetated and handed to Council. An existing 1.1-ha artificial lake, with a tidal connection to the river, will also be preserved.

Beachmere Waters is anticipated to appeal to nature lovers, GemLife Managing Director and Group CEO Adrian Puljich said

“We’re committed to protecting and rehabilitating its surrounding environmental reserve and waterways, and believe GemLife Beachmere Waters will strike a chord with eco-sensitive over 50s who share that same purpose,” he said.

More than $2.5 million will also be used into improve local roads, including new turning lanes and widening of a portion of Beachmere Rd.

There will also be a network of walking and cycling trails, a Country Club, pool, cinema, hall, bar and cafe, salon, golf simulator, lawn bowls, art room and dance floor.

Home will feature a low maintenance two bedroom plus multipurpose room design.

GemLife Beachmere Waters is the developer’s fourth in this region joining Elimbah, Moreton Bay at Burpengary and Bribie Island.
