PCYC Pine Rivers was a hub of tumbling, flipping and fun during its first Gymnastics Showcase Carnival.
Around 70 gymnasts took to the floor, in front of friends and family, at the PCYC in Les Hughes Sports Complex, Bray Park.
The event was designed to showcase the progress and success of all gymnasts – as well as community spirit.
Every participant received a ribbon for each circuit area completed and a PCYC Queensland participation medal to commemorate their achievements.
“It was wonderful to bring everyone together to showcase the skills and progress they've made,” Club Manager PCYC Pine Rivers Paula Sargent said.
“The carnival was such a fun and high-energy day - it really showed how incredible gymnastics is as a sport.
“Watching everyone in action reminded me how much strength, flexibility and confidence it builds.
“I’m so proud of our gymnasts. They lit up the space with their passion and skill, and I think we all left feeling totally inspired.”
The Showcase doubled as a fundraiser, with every dollar raised from raffles, gold coin entry fees, and canteen sales going to gymnastics and youth programs.
PCYC Pine Rivers relaunched its gymnastics program in 2023. Two years later it has 218 young gymnasts enrolled.
They are now preparing to represent PCYC Pine Rivers at an interclub event with PCYC Deception Bay in November.
The collaboration aims to foster friendly competition and strengthen bonds across the PCYC community.
