Head to Morgans Seafood for the best catch this summer

Whether you’re looking to cook up a feast for Christmas lunch or your next barbecue, Morgans Seafood is your go-to destination for quality Australian seafood this summer.
Located at the picturesque Scarborough Boat Harbour with views overlooking the bay, Glasshouse Mountains, luxury yachts and commercial trawlers, the family-owned business is one of Queensland’s best-known seafood destinations.
With more than 180 fresh seafood products on display each day direct from the trawlers and local fishermen, owner Roan Van Graan says it’s the best time of the year to indulge in the bay’s bountiful offerings.
“South East Queensland is known for its fresh seafood, especially in summer because there are so many tasty products readily available,” Roan says.
“This is the best time of the year for trawlers because they are coming back with an abundance of quality seafood like prawns, which is one of the top sellers during the warmer months.
“Customers are wanting items like prawns, oysters, crabs and Moreton Bay Bugs for their Christmas lunch and summer catch-ups because they are freshly caught right here in the bay, easy to prepare, and you don’t have to spend all day in a hot kitchen preparing them.
“We are really lucky to be here in Moreton Bay because we have the freshest seafood right on our doorstep, so if you are a seafood lover, you don’t have to travel far to fill your esky.”
For those who are not regular seafood buyers but are wanting to treat their tastebuds to a variety of flavours, Roan recommends buying one of the ready-made seafood platters.
“If you don’t purchase seafood on a regular basis, it can be a little intimidating because you might not know how much to purchase, or what is in season,” Roan says.
“Our platters have a little bit of everything on them, from seafood to sauces and lemon, and are clearly marked with the price so you know how much it is going to cost you, and if you have enough for everyone.
“The platters are a great option if you are getting together with friends and family. They are available all summer.”
With the bay also home to a generous variety of fish species, Roan says people will be spoilt for choice.
“We sell whole fish and fish fillets which are prepared by our filleters,” Roan says.
“Some of the best buys this summer will be the Atlantic salmon, goldband snapper, red emperor and barramundi.”
Morgans Seafood is at Bird O’ Passage Parade, Scarborough.
It is open seven days a week but closed on Christmas Day.

Other seafood options include freshly prepared prawns, crabs, oysters, crumbed mussels, grilled octopus and garlic bugs.
