A Murrumba Downs woman and her sister have had an unexpected surprise - discovering their $100,000 lottery win while running errands.
The Moreton Bay duo held the first prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot drawn yesterday.
“Holey moley! Thank you so much,” one of the winning sisters said when contacted by The Lott. “Wow! That’s so cool. Holy crap!
“This ticket is for me and my sister as well. We’ve never won anything like this. She will be stoked when I tell her.
“I’m just out and about running errands before heading back to work. I’d be happy for you to derail my day like this anytime! I’ll have a spring in my step when I return to work.
“For me, this will help finish some home renovations. We’ve been doing some at the moment and they’re a little bit over budget, so it’s come at the perfect time.
“I can’t wait to tell my sister!”
The sisters’ winning entry of two random numbers was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $5.56 million for draw 1701, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $16.36 million for draw 10966.
In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.
