The Easter long weekend is just around the corner but don’t panic IGA Newport will be open for the duration, catering for all your grocery and gift needs.
The store, which first opened its doors five months ago, will be open from 6am to 9pm every day during the Easter period, including public holidays.
An IGA Newport spokesman says the store’s popular café, which serves Campos specialty coffee, will also be open.
“It’s business as usual,” he says.
The store has a good range of Easter confectionary and gifts to suit all members of the family from gourmet food lines to plants and homewares.
It’s the perfect place to make up a gift hamper filled with favourite things for a loved one.
IGA Newport stocks a huge range of cheeses – up to 160-170 different varieties - which offers plenty of options for entertaining family and friends.
Meet the team
The team of locals is keen to welcome new customers and those who have already discovered the store which has a friendly vibe, tempting specials and high-quality fresh food.
“There’s been an amazing response from the community, not just from Newport but from Scarborough, Redcliffe, Margate and Kippa-Ring,” the spokesman says.
“We have made a lot of changes as per the feedback from customers.
“Fruit and veg is king, the café is amazing, our meat department is good, our gifting and flower section is amazing.”
In the lead-up to Valentine’s Day, the store sold more than 300 buckets of flowers.
“That was a big, big day for us and people trusted us with the fresh quality and the kind of products we have,” he says.
“It’s a unique store, we have amazing trading hours, we have a price-match promise … we are competitive but at the same time we are unique – we are not Coles and Woolies.
“We cater for everyone, so it’s not a typical supermarket.”
Come and meet the team: Store Manager Hayden, Produce Manager Amy, Café Manager Simon, Chef Fredrico in the café, Deli Manager Fionney, Home Décor and Flower manager Alison, Fresh Food Manager Kaitlyn and the 20 full-time and 40 casual/part-time staff.
IGA Newport is at Newport Marketplace, Lakeview Promenade, Newport.
