Gin lovers will have the chance to make their own drop at this year’s Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival, with workshops on offer in The Oasis VIP Village.

Comiskey Distillery’s Gin Workshop will be an intimate distilling experience during which participants can craft their own 500mL bottle of gin using a mini traditional alembic copper still, with more than 100 botanicals to choose from.

Experts will guide gin makers through the process and teach them how to taste spirits like a professional.

They will also receive a lesson in ‘spirit yoga’ and be able to pair the perfect tonic with their gin blend.

The two-hour, hands-on class will be complemented with two cocktails and a gourmet charcuterie board for participants to enjoy. Best of all, they will be able to take their 500ml bottle of gin home.

The workshops cost $160 which includes entry to the Oasis Village. Ticket holders will also need to buy a General Admission ticket to the festival.

Workshop times (bookings are essential with a maximum of 20 people per class):

• Friday, August 4 – 11am and 3pm

• Saturday, August 5 – 11am and 3pm

• Sunday, August 6 – 11am and 3pm
