Libraires invite bookworms to try click and collect service

Book lovers will be able to stock up on their favourite reading materials and DVDs at their nearest library with Council introducing a click and collect service.

The service is free and allows people to place an order at all 10 of Council’s libraries during opening hours.

Once an order has been placed, library staff will gather the items and deliver them to your car or designated pick-up point in a safe and contactless way.

Mayor Peter Flannery is urging residents to give the service a go.

"We live in an on-demand world these days, and Council is committed to making life as easy as possible for our community,” Mayor Peter Flannery said.

“With COVID still keeping us on our toes, contactless convenience and health and safety also remain a priority.

"The click-and-collect service is available at all of our libraries, and at some locations, members can pick up their books without even having to get out of their cars.

“It’s also a great option as we continue our mission to become the most accessible region in Queensland.”

How it works 

Members can request items to take home by calling or emailing their nearest library or through the Moreton Bay Region Libraries (MBRL) app on their smartphone or tablet.

Through the MBRL app, users need to click on the ‘My Account’ button and then ‘Reservations’ to select the materials they would like to borrow.

After you have received an email or text message from the library saying your order is ready, tap the bright green ‘I’m on my way’ button, which will let library staff know roughly when you will arrive.

The final step is to tap the ‘I’m here button’. A chat window will pop up so you can message staff to let them know how to identify your vehicle for delivery.

The MBRL app is also a convenient way for users to explore thousands of eBooks, audio books and magazine, as well as reserve your spot at upcoming library events.
