A national healthcare media platform, Veri Health, is gaining early traction just months after launching in November, with growing readership and strong engagement from healthcare decision-makers across Australia.

Co-founded by local entrepreneurs Ellie Bakker and Belinda Boyce, Veri Health was created to address a gap in the market for independent, credible journalism focused on the business of healthcare.

While many platforms concentrate on clinical updates or consumer health, Veri Health is designed for healthcare professionals who are also business owners, leaders and employers - the people navigating increasing complexity across regulation, workforce, funding and growth.

Built for a fast-growing and complex industry

The launch of Veri Health comes at a time when healthcare is one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing industries, with national healthcare and wellness spending approaching $200 billion annually.

Closer to home, Health Care and Social Assistance is one of the largest employment sectors in the City of Moreton Bay, highlighting just how many local residents work in, rely on, or are connected to the healthcare system.

Co-founder Ellie Bakker said the idea for Veri Health was shaped by her experience working closely with healthcare businesses across Australia.

“Healthcare is one of Australia’s largest industries, but it’s also one of the most operationally complex,” Ms Bakker said.

“Healthcare professionals are expected to be clinicians, employers, business owners and leaders, often simultaneously, and often without access to information that is practical, independent and grounded in the realities of running a healthcare business.”

“Veri Health exists to support those professionals with credible journalism, real-world insights and coverage that respects both the responsibility and complexity of their role.”

Ms Bakker is also the CEO and founder of Splice Marketing, a locally based healthcare marketing agency that has operated in Moreton Bay for almost a decade and works with healthcare organisations across Australia and internationally.

Strong early engagement from decision-makers

Since launching in November, Veri Health has already attracted a growing audience of healthcare leaders, founders and senior decision-makers.

Early performance indicators show average read times exceeding 26 minutes, suggesting strong engagement with content, while the platform’s subscriber database and social media reach continues to grow daily.

“Our audience is deeply engaged and highly influential,” Ms Bakker said.

“These are people making decisions about workforce, investment, service delivery and long-term growth. The level of engagement we’re seeing confirms there is strong demand for intelligent, relevant coverage that treats healthcare leaders as decision-makers, not just practitioners.”

Local roots with a national focus

While Veri Health’s audience and coverage are national, the platform has strong local roots.

Co-founder Belinda Boyce brings deep experience in independent publishing and regional media, working across both Veri Health and Moreton Daily as part of the same media group while leading distinct editorial and audience strategies.

Her involvement reflects a deliberate approach to building trusted, independent media platforms that serve clearly defined audiences, from local communities through to national healthcare leaders.

Like Moreton Daily, Veri Health is free to access and not hidden behind paywalls, with its business model designed to keep high-quality journalism open and accessible to the people who rely on it, thanks to advertiser and partnership contribution.

“There’s a natural alignment between what Moreton Daily does for the community and what Veri Health is doing for healthcare professionals,” Ms Bakker said.

“Both platforms are built on trusted storytelling, editorial independence and a commitment to serving audiences who rely on credible information to make important decisions.”

Opportunities for healthcare businesses and thought leaders

Alongside its editorial offering, Veri Health provides advertising, partnership and thought-leadership opportunities for healthcare businesses, service providers and industry suppliers.

The platform’s 2026 Media Kit outlines options for organisations looking to reach healthcare decision-makers, particularly those operating in B2B healthcare or professional services.

These opportunities are also relevant for local healthcare businesses looking to position themselves as leaders within a national industry, while supporting an independent media platform focused on quality and credibility.

“We’re very intentional about the businesses we partner with,” Ms Bakker said.

“Veri Health is not a volume advertising platform. We work with organisations that bring expertise, credibility and genuine value to the healthcare sector, and that want to contribute to conversations that move the industry forward.”

A platform designed for the business of care

Veri Health publishes news, features, industry commentary and professional profiles, with a focus on leadership, innovation, workforce and sustainable business growth.

As Veri Health continues to grow nationally, the founders say the platform’s purpose remains clear: to strengthen healthcare outcomes by supporting the leaders, businesses and systems that sit behind patient care.

By providing credible journalism and a trusted environment for industry dialogue, Veri Health aims to play a long-term role in shaping a more sustainable, informed and resilient healthcare sector.
