Two Moreton Bay households have been celebrating a combined $1.2 million in Lottery winnings.
A Caboolture man was sizzling up breakfast sausages when lottery
officials called saying he’d won $1 million win in the November 19
Weekday Windfall draw.
The man held one of the two division one winning entries nationally
and told The Lott officials: “You’ve made me the happiest person in
the world!
“I’m in the middle of making sausages for breakfast and they’re burning! Oh well! Woo-hoo! Thank you, my friend!
“I’m good friends with the owner of the newsagency where I bought the
winning ticket from! I’ll have to visit them, let them know about the
good news, and get a photo with them.
“This money will definitely come in handy. I’ll get my house fixed up – it will probably cost about $50,000 in total,” he shared.
“I’ll also get myself a little dog. A new friend! I’ll try and finish
the sausages now, then treat myself to a celebratory Red Bull.”
His winning System 8 entry was bought at The Local Caboolture South, at Market Plaza - winning numbers 43, 26, 35, 25, 42,13, with
supplementary numbers were 24 and 5.
On Monday a Bellmere woman and her family were jumping so much they felt the house shaking after a life-enhancing $200,000 win in the Lucky Lotteries draw.
“Are you kidding me?” the woman
said when Lott officials rang. “Oh my god! I can’t believe it! This
couldn’t have come at a
better time.
“My entire family is over at the moment, and I put you on speaker phone as you confirmed the prize.
“We’re all jumping up and down, and my son is screaming. I think we’re making the house shake. How unbelievable. This is just great!”
With $200,000 set to boost her bank account in time for the festive
season, the overjoyed mum wasted no time dreaming of what she’d put her prize towards.
“We might buy our daughter a new car as an early Christmas present,”
she said. “We’ve also got a lot of little things we’d like to do
around our house.
“I’m honestly still in shock. I’ll have a better think about it once I calm down.”
Her winning entry of six random numbers was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
