Newport Marketplace’s Si Baby and Fishport Gourmet Seafood restaurants have crafted special menus sure to delight lovers this Valentine’s Day.
The teams at both venues are excited to create a memorable evening for diners on what will be their first Valentine’s Day at the centre, which is fast-becoming a community hub.
Si Baby opened about two months ago and already has a strong following from locals and visitors to the area.
Fishport Gourmet Seafood restaurant has also been a hit since it opened on January 19.
Both overlook the canals at Newport and offer a relaxed setting, perfect for a special occasion like Valentine’s Day.
Si Baby Restaurant
Si Baby General Manager Francesco Motta says the venue, which is usually closed on Tuesdays, will open especially for the most romantic night of the year.
His team has crafted a four-course sharing menu featuring their most popular dishes for $60 per person.
“Come in, have some really nice, shared food. It’s romantic. We’ve designed the menu to be shared and enjoyed by both parties,” he says.
The menu includes marinated olives, mushroom and smoked mozzarella arancini and crudo of the day to start.
There’s then a choice of one pasta dish to share (three options to choose from), refreshing rocket salad on the side and Tiramisu for dessert.
Diners can add Valentine’s Day oysters (additional cost).
“The arancini is one of our hottest-selling dishes and the crudo is something a little bit special, something different for people to try,” Francesco says.
“Our mains include our two most popular dishes at Si Baby – the lamb ragu just flies out the door and so does the spaghetti prawn.”
The menu and stunning setting are designed to create a special evening with sittings at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
“It’s the most romantic spot to have Valentine’s Day by the water, with a breeze, Italian food, a glass of wine … you can’t get better than that,” he says.
