Moreton Daily was there to capture the glitz and glamour of the historic Dolphins’ NRL 2023 season launch at The Tivoli on February 3.

The evening marked the club’s official ascension to the ‘top flight’ in Australian rugby league, bringing together supporters, sponsors, players, staff, partners and those with deep connections to the Dolphins.

Super Coach Wayne Bennett promised high standards for the club’s inaugural season, which starts with round one on March 5.

“I’ve spent a lifetime of coaching, trying to make you proud of the teams that I coach. I love the game, I love its people. I think I’ve delivered that on many, many occasions and I don’t see any reason why we won’t do that in the future,” he said..

“It’s important to me. It’s important how we present ourselves because we are representatives of you.

“To the players, I’m not going to make any predictions. I’m not that stupid. They’ve trained extremely well. This is my 43rd preseason (8 as a young coach and 36 in the NRL) … I know a bit about it and what I do know is if you don’t get it right, you won’t get the season right.”
