Police probe Moreton Bay car thefts

Police are investigating a number of car thefts across Moreton Bay and Brisbane this week.
Investigations are ongoing to establish if any offences, between April 14 and 17, are connected. A police spokesperson said overnight on April 14, a white VW Golf was stolen from Leura Avenue in Hawthorne.
Shortly before 1am on April 16, a beige 2003 Toyota Echo was stolen from a Liberty Cres address in North Lakes. The vehicle was later sighted around 4.30am during a robbery of a silver Toyota RAV4 from a 34-year-old man, at a Goodwin St carpark in Bongaree.
The victim was not injured. The Echo was located later that morning abandoned at a Gibbons St carpark in Woolloongabba.
Shortly before 12:30am on April 17, two unknown people stole a silver 2023 Ford Ranger and silver Toyota CHR from Jude St address in Bracken Ridge.
Around 1.40am, the Ford Ranger was located abandoned on the Southern Cross MWY near Virginia.
Around 2am, the Toyota CHR was located abandoned on Wynnum Rd in Morningside.
Around 5am, a red 2023 Subaru Forester and a red 2021 Mazda CX-30 were stolen from a Barker St address in East Brisbane.
The white VW Golf, silver Toyota RAV4, red 2023 Subaru Forester and red 2021 Mazda CX-30 remain outstanding.
Anyone with information or vision, including dashcam or CCTV, that may assist investigations is urged to contact police.
Investigations remain ongoing.
