Police round-up: boat crash, drink driving charges
A 49-year-old Margate man was charged with drink driving after his boat crashed into rocks at Castlereagh Reef off Scarborough beach.
Officers from the Water Police were alerted to the boat causing excessive wash and wake in the Scarborough marina about 11am on November 6.
The boat hit the rocks at 12.35pm but managed to get free and was moving when it was intercepted by the Water Police before being towed back to the marina.
The driver was charged with drink driving after allegedly returning a BAC reading of 0.192 per cent.
He was also issued with infringement notices for driving an unregistered vessel and failing to carry the prescribed safety equipment, both of which incur a $287 fine.
He is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on November 22.
Barbecue stolen
A barbecue and a battery pack were stolen from a house in Cadiz St, Bray Park between 3pm on November 5 and 10am on November 6.
The property, including a Webber barbecue, stand and full 4kg gas bottle was stolen from an open carport.
Burglary
An iPad and jewellery were stolen from a house in Arinya Ave at Bellara on November 5.
Burglars smashed a rear glass sliding door to enter the house between 6.45am and 7.15am.
A chair is believed to have been used to smash the door.
Motorcycle crashes
Three motorcyclists were injured in separate accidents across the region at the weekend.
Police say poor decisions continue to be the cause of preventable motorcycle crashes.

In one of the incidents, a rider who crashed after allegedly attempting a wheel stand suffered head and neck injuries and was taken to hospital.
The crash happened on Rutters Rd, Elimbah at 9.30pm on November 5.
The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time.
In another, a 50-year-old Caboolture man sustained leg and head injuries after falling from his bike when it left the road on Bellmere Rd, Bellmere about 9am on November 6.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police say preliminary investigations indicate speed was a contributing factor.
Disqualified driving
Nine people were charged with disqualified driving across the Moreton District at the weekend.
A 24-year-old Caboolture South man was charged after he was intercepted on Lawnton Pocket Rd at Lawnton at 3am on November 6.
The man is expected to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on November 21.
Deception Bay police intercepted a motorcyclist whose vehicle allegedly had a faulty headlight on November 5 at 8pm on Lipscombe Rd, Deception Bay.
The 30-year-old woman from Deception Bay was charged with disqualified driving and is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on November 23.
She was one of four drivers charged by Deception Bay police for disqualified driving over the weekend.
