A 16-year-old boy from Caboolture has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, driving while over the no alcohol limit, unlawful entry, attempted burglary and burglary.

The charges follow several incidents at Bribie Island and Sandstone Point last week.

Police allege the boy took a bike from a garage at a property in Egret St, Bongaree about 11am on August 24 after a roller-door was left open while the owner took groceries into the house.

They also allege that he took a vehicle from outside a Sandstone Point caravan park about 1.50pm, using a key left inside for a short time.

Police from Bribie Island and Caboolture found the boy at Springwater Crescent, Morayfield.

He will appear in the Caboolture Children’s Court at a later date.

Murrumba Downs

A 15-year-old boy from Chermside West has been charged with burglary and receiving tainted property after an incident at a Murrumba Downs retirement home.

The boy has also been charged with attempted break and enter, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing relating to incidents at Alderley, Carina, Coomera, Bulimba, Aspley and Chermside between July 7 and August 19.

Police arrested the boy after a call from a 96-year-old retirement complex resident and her 60-year-old daughter who heard noises about 5.30am on August 24 and found a garage door had been forced and propped open with a pot plant.

The boy will appear in the Pine Rivers Children’s Court at a later date.
