A Kallangur woman couldn’t believe what had happened when discovering she’d bagged a Keno jackpot of more than $442,000.
The woman scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot on Sunday (February 4) and took home a total prize of $442,606.90.
“Oh my god, this is actually real!” she screamed when an official from Keno called to confirm her win.
“I couldn’t believe it then and I can scarcely believe it now!
“We were just enjoying our afternoon and I looked up and said to my husband, ‘I think I’ve got eight out of nine numbers there.’
“That would have been amazing! Then I checked the entry and immediately went into shock at the win.
“It’s just life changing. The priority for us is to just make sure we have some serious fun in the future!
“We’re going on a holiday soon so it’ll add a bit of extra spending money and then we can look to set ourselves and our family up for the future. How amazing!”
Her winning Keno Classic 9 Spot entry was bought at Kallangur Tavern, on Anzac Avenue.
Tavern spokesperson Sarah Lewis said: “Seeing one of our patrons win big with Keno is always fantastic and generates such a positive atmosphere in our venue
that everyone feels like they’ve shared in the win too.
“As you can imagine, Keno wins like this become a talking point here for a long time to come.
“Kallangur Tavern is no stranger to Keno wins, but we’re always excited to see another one come our way. We wish our winner the very best with their prize!”
In 2023, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 67.31 million wins collectively worth more than $1 billion.
During this time, Keno crowned 21 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $51.5 million.
Along with being played in over 3500 pubs and clubs in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, Keno can now be played anywhere with the Keno app in the ACT and Victoria.
