Redcliffe Leagues Swimming Club’s small team had big successes at the Brisbane Short Course Championships.
Rylee Smith competed in seven events at the senior titles last weekend, swimming a personal best in each and dropping a collective 17 seconds.
At Brisbane Aquatic Centre she won the 13 Years Girls’ 200m freestyle and 100m individual medley champion and runner-up in the 400m freestyle and 200m backstroke.
Smith was also a close fourth in the 100m backstroke and 800m freestyle. She placed 11th in the 100m freestyle.
Club colleague Elissa Chapman was in three events at the junior championships, held a week earlier, also swimming pbs in each - making it 10 from 10 for the club - and dropping a total of 12 seconds.
In the 8 Years Girls races she was 14th in 50m backstroke, 15th at 50m freestyle and 17th in the 50m breaststroke.
Redcliffe Leagues’ SC entries were down due to a number of swimmers currently being injured.
