Moreton Bay City Council’s school holiday program offers a range of school holiday activities and events across its libraries, galleries and museums, environmental centres and at other locations. Activities are free or low-cost, and available for children and young people.

LEGO and robots
Learn how to drive a Dash robot, then build an extension using LEGO to help you complete a challenge. This free activity at Redcliffe Library is suitable for children aged 7-11 years. No bookings required.

Discover local history
Wear (and keep) white gloves to get up close and personal with historic items at Redcliffe Library. Children can reminisce with parents or grandparents as they explore memory box treasures. This free activity is suitable for children aged 6 years +. Bookings are required for adults and children.

Christmas baking
Work together to mix a batch of cookie dough to be baked in an air fryer at Redcliffe Library. While the biscuits are cooking, children can enjoy another Christmas-themed activity before decorating the tasty treats and taking them home. This free activity is suitable for children aged 5-11 years. Bookings are required. Not suitable for anyone with allergies to gluten, eggs and dairy.

Family Friday film
Visit Redcliffe Library every Friday (except public holidays) during the school holidays for Family Friday Film Afternoons at 2pm. All movies will be either G or PG-rated. Entry is free. No bookings required.

Soft sculpture
Participants will use felt, yarn and raffia to create a small soft sculpture in this workshop at Redcliffe Art Gallery, inspired by the work in the Two Girls from Amoonguna exhibition. They will be taught simple hand-sewing and construction techniques. Cost is $5. This activity is suitable for children aged 8-14 years. All materials provided. Bookings are required.

Weaving workshop
Children can create a landscape artwork using fabric in this workshop hosted by Fresh Eyes artist, Emily McGuire. They will learn the basics of weaving as they respond to images of local landscapes, using second-hand clothing off-cuts. This activity is suitable for the whole family, and all abilities.
