Redcliffe Tigers AFL Club players and members will pay their respects to Defence veterans on Saturday.

The Kippa-Ring based club will hold a special service at its Nathan Rd grounds ahead of Anzac Day, as well as a full day of matches.

The service, at 1.30pm, will include a poem recited by a Redcliffe State High School captain, a band member from the school sounding the Last Post and a wreath-laying ceremony.

The club will also unveil its Anzac Day players’ strip, with three sets of guernseys donated by a club member.

The Colts kick off the day at 9.45am, taking on the Sandgate Hawks, followed by the Reserves against the Hawks at 11.45am and the Anzac service at 1.30pm.

Play resumes at 2pm with the Seniors tackling Sandgate before the Women’s Seniors take on Sherwood at 4.45pm and the Women’s Reserves ending the day against Sherwood at 6.30pm.
