Work has started to repair a number of landslips on Brisbane-Woodford Road, known locally as the Mt Mee and Dayboro Roads.
Four sites between D’Aguilar and Dayboro need repairs following extensive damage during the flooding and rain in early 2022.
Repairs will include excavating the slope faces and installing rockfall mesh, shotcrete, and rock bolts to stabilise the road embankments.
Transport and Main Roads (TMR) says works are expected to be completed in late 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting.
“TMR has been working hard behind the scenes to get roads across the region repaired following the disaster event in 2022,” TMR Deputy regional Director, North Coast Region Justin Valks said.
“Extensive work was involved in completing detailed design for these sections of Mount Mee and Dayboro roads, and the reconstruction works will stabilise the road and get it back to its original condition.
"TMR will continue to monitor these sections of road to maintain safety until full reconstruction is completed."
Funding is from the Australian and Queensland Governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
The repairs are part of a broader program of more than 200 damaged batter slope/embankment sites across the region.
Motorists should drive to conditions and be aware of reduced speed limits and lane closures needed during works.
