Fantastic news
“It is fantastic to have our fixture for the upcoming A-League season confirmed,” says Brisbane Roar CEO David Pourre.
“This gives our players and coaches a date to work towards and continue building towards in pre-season as well as building excitement for our loyal supporter base.
“Football is just over a month from returning to Queensland and we’re looking forward to filling the stands with a sea of orange at Dolphin Stadium for our first fixture against Wellington Phoenix.”
Home to Roar
It follows the move by Roar women and youth teams to a new $18 million centre of excellence at Brendale by 2023.
“Football lovers thought they were excited when the women and youth teams announced they’d be coming to Moreton Bay, now they’ll have 13 A-League matches right on their doorstep,” Mayor Peter Flannery says.
“This validates the $8.4 million we’ve invested into Dolphin Stadium to bring its capacity up to 11,500 as one of the best grounds in Queensland.”
Live matches
Fox Sports will broadcast A-League and Westfield W-League football for six days a week up until the end of the women’s season.
This will include every match of the A-League season and the 2021 Finals Series and two matches per round of the Westfield W-League season as well as all 2021 Finals Series matches.
ABCTV will broadcast live one match per round of the A-League and Westfield W-League 2020/21 Season, all matches of the Westfield W-League 2021 Finals Series live and provide a delayed broadcast of one A-League 2021 Elimination Final, one A-League 2021 Semi Final and the A-League 2020 Grand Final.
