Samford Golden Valley Pony Club is to host one of the most anticipated events in this year’s Queensland equestrian calendar.
The 2026 Pony Club Queensland (PCQ) State Championships for Dressage and Combined Training are to be held in Moreton Bay.
Samford Golden Valley will host the three-day championships from July 7-9 at Burpengary Equestrian Centre, 350 Rowley Road, Burpengary.
Club President Rhys Frampton said hosting the state titles is a milestone for Samford Golden Valley and Moreton Bay.
“Being chosen to host the PCQ State Championships is a testament to the hard work of our members, volunteers, and supporters,” Rhys said.
“With Brisbane preparing to host the Olympics, there has never been a more inspiring time for young riders participating in Olympic disciplines like Dressage and Combined Training.
“We are thrilled to welcome riders and spectators to Moreton Bay for an event that celebrates both community pride and competitive excellence.”
Top young riders from across Queensland will converge on Burpengary for the dressage and eventing (which includes combined training elements) which are both Olympic disciplines.
The Championships are expected to deliver an economic boost to local businesses, with increased activity across accommodation providers, cafés, retail stores, and service industries.
