Moreton Bay City Council’s school holiday program has been released, with a diverse range of activities, performances, workshops, and events for all children to enjoy.

From coil weaving and T-shirt decorating to painting and wildlife shows, the City of Moreton Bay has it all these school holidays.

Here is a full list of activities happening during the September school holidays.

What's on the program

Coil weaving with Kristine Ellis

September 18 | 2-4pm at Deception Bay Library

September 25 | 3-5pm at Albany Creek Library

Create your own earrings or basket in this workshop, with guidance from proud Wakka Wakka woman, Kristine Ellis.

This workshop is free to attend, but bookings are required.


Wildlife show with D’Aguilar Wildlife

September 18 | 10-11am at Morayfield Sport and Events Centre

D’Aguilar Wildlife is bringing the zoo experience to you these school holidays. After the show, there will be plenty of time for photos and pats.

This event costs $5 per person.


Create a custom t-shirt

September 16 | 1-3pm at Strathpine Library

September 21 | 11.30am-1.30pm at Albany Creek Library

September 28 | 2-4pm at Caboolture Library

Make your own custom T-shirt design using the library’s Cricut machines. There is a maximum of two designs per attendee.

This event is free to attend, and no bookings are required.


Pat a llama

Play with kinetic sand, playdough, paint and craft, so make sure you dress for getting messy.

This event is for under 5s and is free to attend. No bookings are required.


mBot robot challenge

September 19 | 11am-noon at Deception Bay Library

September 22 | 2-3pm at Woodford Library

September 27 | 11am-noon at Albany Creek Library

This shared robot event will teach you to solve challenges using different types of mBot robots. Launch a catapult and use the obstacle course to test your driving skills.

This event is free to attend, but bookings are required.


Minecraft: Save the painting

September 19 | 3-5pm at Burpengary Library, Caboolture Library, North Lakes Library and Redcliffe Library

Build up defences around the artwork to save it from being destroyed by the wild beasts.

This event is free, and you can book a spot to play from home using your own Bedrock or Java account or come in to use library accounts and devices.


3D print design

Use Tinkercad to design a custom object of your choice to take home after the workshop.

DJ tips and tricks with Aaron Shanahan

Learn about track selection, beat matching, how to use the mixer and mixing in key with musician Aaron Shanahan.

Drawing cute and crazy pets with Phil from Comic Express

September 26 | 11.30am-12.30pm at Albany Creek Library

Phil from Comic Express will teach you how to make a character look cute or crazy in this step-by-step class. Learn more about inking and speech bubbles.
