Upgrade plans for hinterland road

Plans to upgrade a key Moreton Bay tourist route are expected to be completed this year.

The State Government is working on improvements to the Brisbane‑Woodford Road, locally known as Mount Mee Road, between Dayboro and D’Aguilar.

It will assess road conditions and the road environment along the 40km corridor, taking into account current and future traffic volumes, speed limits and known constraints.

The study will support future investment decisions to improve safety and reliability on Mount Mee Road, which has narrow sections, changing speed zones, crests and tight bends.

Minister for Transport and Main Roads Brent Mickelberg said the planning work would help identify where upgrades are needed most to support a growing region.

“Brisbane‑Woodford Road is a critical connection for the Moreton Bay hinterland, linking communities, supporting local jobs and helping people get where they need to go,” the Minister said.

“This study demonstrates our commitment to delivering a safer road network for all communities across the state, looking at traffic volumes, road conditions and safety risks so future investment can be targeted where it will make the biggest difference.”

Member for Glasshouse Andrew Powell said: “Mount Mee Road is a vital connection that locals rely on every day.”
