Weather update: Flood Watch remains, schools closed
Words by Kylie Knight

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a 70 per cent chance of showers and the chance of a thunderstorm later today, which could lead to more flash flooding during the afternoon and evening.

The forecast prompted Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to ask South East Queenslanders, including Moreton Bay Region residents to work from home today. State schools are only open to children of essential workers and those who are vulnerable.

A Flood Watch warning remains in place for South East Queensland with localised flash flooding possible for the next 24 hours.

More than 60 roads are still closed across the Moreton Bay Region, due to flooding or flood damage but the crossing to White Patch has reopened in record time.
